Latvia fires up the oven
It’s a baker’s delight in Copenhagen this year, with Aarzemnieki winning Latvia’s national selection Dziesma with their song Cake to Bake.
The four-piece band took out the honours in the Final, beating other big names to get to the Superfinal, consisting of the top 3 acts of the Final. Lead by singer Jöran Steinhauer, the group originally formed in 2011 but took on a new lease of life last year. Reactions around Europe have been quite mixed, just like the batter the band are making during the song.
Aarzemnieki beat two other acts to win the Superfinal. One of them was Samanta Tina, who sang Stay. Should Latvia have stayed with Samanta or will they get the big one with the help of Aarzemnieki’s buns in the oven?
