Will Europe love Basim?
The host broadcaster of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, DR, have just wrapped up this year’s edition of Melodi Grand Prix in Odense.
Winning his spot in the Eurovision line up was Basim with his self-described “pop song with a hint of R&B and soul”, Cliché Love Song. The 21 year old singer is popular in Denmark, coming fourth in the first season of X Factor when he was only 15. He also has released two albums and a number of singles in Denmark.
Basim was one of the top three artists to make the Store Finale (Big Final) of MGP, which then lead to a second round of voting. All five jurors voted for his song as their favourite.
Coming in second was Michael Rune featuring Natascha Bessez with the dance floor pumper, Wanna Be Loved.
