Italy: It’s a heap o’ Love from Il Volo
Italy’s premier song contest, Sanremo Song Festival, has concluded its 65th edition with a winner who is off to Vienna to represent the Mediterranean country.
Sixteen songs were in the running to win the Big Artists section of the Festival but only three could advance to the superfinal.
Il Volo won the superfinal with their song Grande Amore.
Coming second was Nek with Fatti avanti amore.
In third place was Malika Ayane with Adesso e qui (Nostalgico presente).
Although not the major winner, Nek won an award for best arrangement and the Mia Martini Critics Award went to Malika Ayane.
