Many artists at the Eurovision Song Contest don’t often write their own songs, but this year’s Swiss entrant has.

24-year-old Mélanie René returned from studying in the UK to enter the Swiss Final with Time To Shine. She won. And now she’s in Vienna.
Michael chatted to the talented artist about what it’s like to perform on the Eurovision stage and the ideas behind the staging of her entry.
Plus she remembers a time when something gave her joy.
Mélanie René performs Time To Shine in Semi Final 2, telecast LIVE on SBS ONE at 5am AEST, Friday 22 May.
