The Semi 2 Rehearsals continue: From the Press Centre
JOY 94.9 is finally in Vienna… and just in time too.
The rehearsals for the second-half of Semi 2 have been getting under way. It’s quite a mixed bag.
Israel got the ball rolling with 16 year old Nadav Gudej dancing his little heart out on the Viennese stage.
Wearing golden shoes, the singer employed the moves of some very good looking dancers… who have sent half of the Press Centre into a frenzy.
It’s all about the love for Aminata. Latvia‘s entry is full of lights, imagery and strobing. It’s quite a dynamic performance.
The dress has had people talking. It’s all about the length in Latvia at the moment.
Azerbaijan‘s ballad from Elnur Huseynov was a bit of a favourite around the traps. The first rehearsal didn’t get a huge reaction from the Press Centre though.
Aiming to use the screens to add some extra imagery to the story, the song is portrayed in a dark, moody forest, with two dancers added to provide a further layer to the narrative. It might need some extra work.
Rounding out the morning was Maria Olafs. She brought a bit of pixie to the Eurovision stage for Iceland, replete with a pink party dress and golden feet.
As much as the stage and background lit up like a beautiful Icelandic landscape, Maria’s voice had trouble carrying through the entire song.
The afternoon brings favourite Sweden, Switzerland, Cyprus, Slovenia, and finally, Poland.
