#DareToDream with JOY in Tel Aviv
The Eurovision Song Contest is Europe’s biggest TV show and the world’s biggest music competition, with an audience of over 186 million people last year.
In the lead up to this year’s Radiothon, show your love for Australia’s first and only LGBTIQ community radio station as we travel to Israel for all the Eurovision glitz, glamour and drama from 6 – 19 May 2019.
JOY 94.9’s Music Director and member of the JOYEurovision team, Michael, will be in Tel Aviv to bring the excitement of Eurovision directly to your radio, phone, tablet and computer.
In the week leading up to Eurovision (6 – 12 May), get up close and personal with this year’s contestants with a selection of interview podcasts and other content across Facebook and Instagram. Don’t miss all the behind-the-scenes fun and goss via the posts on the JOYEurovision website and live crosses throughout the week.
During Eurovision week (13 – 19 May), listen in to JOY’s diverse breakfast and drive shows to hear the latest updates and some exclusive tidbits from Tel Aviv. Throughout the day, we’ll feature some interview highlights and provide you with all the full, uncut interviews via the JOYEurovision podcast feed on iTunes, Spotify or the JOY website.
Melbourne’s only Eurovision radio show, JOYEurovision, continues every Saturday at 7pm AEST, with Michael joined by Liam live from Tel Aviv and supported in the studio by Io and some very special guests. Be part of the fun as they preview every song in this year’s competition and give you a chance to have your voice heard by voting.
It doesn’t end there: Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix gets a touch of Euro-sparkle as your favourite Eurovision hits get a play during your work day.
“It’s going to be an interesting competition this year in Tel Aviv and I’m pumped to be able to bring it all home to Australia thanks to JOY,” says Michael. “This is the biggest music competition in the world after all, and it wouldn’t be right if Melbourne’s home of amazing tunes, people and shows wasn’t on the ground to capture the spectacle.”
“We truly are LGBTI Australia’s Eurovision home at JOY and we’re proud to share it all with Melbourne, Australia and the world, both on air and online, 24/7.”
