Pollapönk: Celebrating diversity

Music, Society & Culture

Michael had a chat to Iceland’s version of The Wiggles, the colourful men of Pollapönk.

pollaponk - iceland 2014

Their entry for this year’s Contest, No Prejudice, has got Europe dancing, but it also has an important message.

The men talk about being a band for kids and adults, how their preparation is going, and why they chose to sing in English:

I think it’s very important that this message is brought to people by persons like us because we are middle-aged, white males, which is the majority group. I think it’s very important that those kinds of group stand out and bring the message to everybody.
