From stick men to Poland – the rest of the rehearsals

The remaining Semi 2 entries had their first run-throughs this afternoon, with more mixed reactions from the Press Centre and a wait of 20 minutes, thanks to Måns’ projections.
And on that, current favourite, Måns Zelmerlöw, delivered a solid rehearsal for Sweden (which was the expectation, honestly).

Unlike Swedes in general, his stick figure has gone from being skinny (and the centre of a copyright scandal) to having put on a fair bit of weight. The rest of the performance was tight, just like the new stick figure’s old clothes.
Next up in the line-up is Switzerland‘s Mélanie René with her time to shine. And shine she does in a wonderful dress that’s (eventually) made for a wedding.

On the bridal theme, Mel’s got something blue, thanks to the moody blue lighting that has returned to the stage. She’s also borrowed the drums from Ryan Dolan, Elitsa & Stoyan, Svetlana Loboda and Emmelie de Forest. The combination might just get her through to the Grand Final.
We’re still wondering what John Karayiannis should have done on stage in his rehearsal. The hopes of Cyprus are on the 20 year old’s shoulders with his ballad and some simple black-and-white to colour staging.

There were lots of pretty lights to keep people mesmerised. And he has a nice voice too.
The air violins came out for Maraaya, Slovenia‘s husband and wife team. Lots of yellow. Lots of air guitar. Lots of clicking.

Marjetka sang brilliantly and Raay clicked along well from behind his piano. If only Marjetka keeps looking at the cameras as much as she did by the third time around…
And finally, Poland presented its entry to finish off the first rehearsals for both Semi Finals. Monika Kuszyńska was surrounded with ribbons and flowers. Pretty.

She did a good job at surrounding herself with good vocals too. More pretty. A pretty way to end a show.
Tomorrow, it happens all over again. Have any of the 1st Semi Final contestants learnt anything from their first rehearsals? Will the Press Centre goo and gaa over some big change? Can the snack bar keep up with the hungry hordes?
