Finland: Saara shines proudly

Saara Aalto is one of Finland’s biggest names in music. She placed second on The Voice of Finland, second on X Factor UK, second at UMK… sensing a pattern? This girl of silver doesn’t want to be second at Eurovision though.

Michael sat down with this out-and-proud singer to chat about coming out, its effects on her life and what it takes to become big after always coming second.

Make sure you have a listen to her brand new album, Wild Wild Wonderland, too.

Catch Saara performing Monsters in Semi 1 on Wednesday 9 May on SBS:

  • Live show at 5am AEST
  • Prime time show at 7:30pm AEST
