Special Report: Preview to Melodifestivalen 2012 Final
Melodifestivalen, literally “the melody festival,” but it’s so much more, especially to Eurovision fans.
It’s without a doubt the biggest and boldest national final in all of Eurovision–land…although the return of Italy into the contest may bring that into dispute.
This year has seen two former winners of Melodifestivalen, Afro-Dite (2002) and Charlotte Perrelli (1999, 2008) seemingly flame out early in the semi-final rounds.
JOYEurovision talked to William Lee Adams, editor of Wiwi Bloggs about how two previous winners made missteps on their comeback trail and which songs are likely to win this year’s Melodifestivalen.
