It’s 1993. December 1. Following a huge effort by a dedicated group of men and women of our community, the first words ever spoken on JOY by founding member John Oliver are “Can I have a cup of coffee and then we’ll get going..” and the first song, accidentally played. is from Jimmy Barnes. From that inauspicious start we officially launched the station with Kylie Minogue’s Celebration. Of course. Twenty years later, more than ever we celebrate JOY.
