It’s 2004. JOY has a reputation for being the first with the newest music from around the world. Music director Damian Nicholas imported dozens of CDS at his own cost, every month. Once such CD was a release from Sophie Ellis-Bextor, I Won’t Change You. The B-side to that CD single, according to Damian’s own words, “was much more interesting than the a-side”. That song became on of the most requested songs on the station at the time. It’s a cover of the 1977 hit single by Spanish duo, Baccara. This is Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Yes Sir, I can Boogie on JOY!
