Katie Purvis from our Three Chords and the Truth program spoke by phone to Sally Cameron, the soprano from ARIA-award-winning, critically acclaimed ensemble The Idea of North.
The Idea Of North have just released their 13th album, Ballads, and who are currently touring nationally. Founded in Canberra in 1993, the group comprises Sally, Naomi Crellin (alto), Nick Begbie (tenor) and Andrew Piper (bass).
The new CD allows the group the opportunity to explore their love of ballads and indulge in the intricate harmonies for which they have become renowned. Katie and Sally chat about the art of harmony singing and about some of the tracks on Ballads, including Sarah McLachlan’s famous song ‘Angels’.
