Starting right back at silent films at the turn of last century, Amy weaves her way through the decades, checking out the very first scores ever written for film, looking at the influence of jazz and rock music on film scores of the 40s and 50s, the experimental phase of the 60s and 70, the synthesizers of the 80s and the use of computers and electronics in the 90s and 2000s. Max Steiner, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Bernard Hermann, Rachel Portman, Henry Mancini, George Gershwin, Aaron Copland, James Horner, Elliot Goldenthal, Radiohead’s guitarist Jonny Greenwood and Aussie composer Antony Partos.
