Academic, change agent, gay social history writer and theorist Dennis Altman joins Kath and bryan for a trip through global and personal gay history, including Dennis’s quirky relationship to the Australian writer he is most often compared to, Germaine Greer.
Dennis is best known for his pioneering 1971 book, Homosexual: oppression and liberation, which spread like wildfire across the world during the ’70s. He informs us, albeit rather drily, that he is actually the author of many other works (the number’s teetering toward twenty) and reveals to us his personal favorite.
Dennis also makes known his life’s next ambition, that being to visit, photograph and expound on gay bath-houses of the world; and bryan is shameless in his desire to be involved.
