Single Review – Bone and Jones’ Social Anxiety

Reviewer – Tristan Winter

Could this be a modern day ‘Eagle Rock’? I think so.

In 2017 they launched their garage rock inspired LP ‘Living Given’ with contains 11 tracks on deliciousness. Now in 2018, Bones and Jones release their new single ‘Social Anxiety’ along with a cheeky B-Side ‘Baggy Frown’. Bones and Jones and with this one they transport up straight back into the 1960’s. With a funky bass line and plenty of harmonica in this song you’re bond to be groovin’ along to this lil’ gem. Thank the Lorde we have up and coming bands like this bringing the 1960’s to 2018!

Bones and Jones are a crew of 5 from Geelong and Ocean Grove who’s music take ALOT of inspiration for the 60’s. The crew grew by the coast so obviously divide their time by between the surf and the garage. Their music is inspired by the late sound of

the Beatles, The Kinks and Velvet Underground.

I definitely wouldn’t class this as a surf song, but on the scale of no swell to ‘Lets Go Surfing’ by The Drums, I’d put it somewhere in between. It’s that funky harmonica that gets me everytime.

This is groovy one and I’m a sucker for this!
