The Equality Hub returns to Fitzroy for Y2YES

Shane from Mollies Bar and Diner and Sircuit joined Robbie and Dean on MAD Wednesdays to tell us about the return of The Equality Hub for Y2YES.

15th November 2019 is the second anniversary of Australia saying YES to equality, in an unnecessary postal survey which saw 62% of the national stand up and let our communities know that we are counted.

During that time in 2017, Sircuit and Mollies in Fitzroy became an Equality Hub for our communities, a safe space for anyone to come and seek support, refuge, or simply a space they knew that they are welcome.

In the lead up to the second anniversary, owner Chris Driscoll reflected on how that day meant so much more for our communities than simply the right to equal marriage. Not wanting anyone to forget what we went through, and how much we came together, he has reopened The Equality Hub all day on 15th November, to bring our communities together and acknowledged those we need to continue to support on the further road to equality.

JOY 94.9 will be broadcasting live from Sircuit all day, kicked off by Robbie and Dean, with events upstairs throughout the day at Mollies.
