MQFF’s PRIDE Virtual Screening this Saturday

Spiro from MQFF joined Rach and Dean to talk about the festival winning a Time Out Melbourne’s Time In Award for Favourite Virtual Event for their Virtual Film Night.

And they are celebrating with another one,  combined with it being Pride Month, with a Netflix Party screening of Pride on Saturday 13th June.

Join MQFF from 7pm, (link will be posted on their Facebook page) and the film will be paused  until 7:10pm, before pressing play to allow for others to join – get all the details here.

The film Pride is about London-based gay and lesbian activists lend their support to striking miners in 1984 Wales. Together realising they share common foes in Margaret Thatcher, the police and the conservative press, as they form an unlikely alliance against a Thatcher government who’d made it an offence to teach pro-homosexual relationships in school—the age of homosexual consent was also 21 at the time, punishable by law—and branded the striking miners “enemies of the people.”
