Miss Chatelaine #23, 16 July 2017 – k.d. lang retrospective

In honour of k.d. lang’s Australian tour for the 25th anniversary of her breakthrough album, Ingénue, Katie devotes the whole show to k.d.’s music. From her early ‘cow-punk’ days, to collaborations with artists such as Roy Orbison and Tony Bennett, to songs for film soundtracks, to her mighty version of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’, k.d.’s catalogue is rich and deep. In fact, there is so much k.d. music that Katie ran out of time to play tracks from Watershed (2008), Sing It Loud (2011) and case/lang/veirs (2016). That means there will have to be another k.d. special sometime soon …
