Melbourne singer Helen Ryder is Katie’s guest for the second hour of today’s show. Helen has a rich and distinctive voice and is drawn to songs that have a story to tell. Her debut album, Someday Love (2015), was well received and now she has a lush new single, ‘Birds’, which is a cover of a 1970 Neil Young song. Helen and Katie chat about song interpretation, their favourite singers and more, and Helen performs an Elvis Presley song live in the studio accompanied by guitarist Mitch Power.
