Una McAlinden from National Celtic Festival – Show #60 (part 2), 20 May 2018

Music

The National Celtic Festival takes place every Queen’s Birthday weekend in Portarlington, south-west of Melbourne. Katie chats to the founder and director of the festival, Una McAlinden, about its origins and the great variety of Celtic music represented, and plays tracks by some of the artists appearing at this year’s festival. Una is also the director of Folk Alliance Australia, and she and Katie talk about its work with young artists. Here is the playlist:

  • Long Days – The Paul McKenna Band
  • Please Don’t Cry – The Drowsy Maggies
  • Carrickfergus – Damien Leith
  • Shakedown – Hat Fitz & Cara
  • The Homecoming – Melbourne Scottish Fiddle Club
  • Gaps – The Bean Project
  • She Loves Me (When I Try) – The Mae Trio

Visit the National Celtic Festival’s official website and follow it on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Find out more about Folk Alliance Australia at its website.
