Her Sound, Her Story – Show #72, 12 August 2018
JOY’s Sarah Chadwick hosted this week while Katie had a week off. Unfortunately we don’t have audio for the show, but we have the playlist! In the first hour, Sarah played a mix of new and recent music, much of it by queer artists, and in the second hour she focused on some of the Australian artists who are featured in the 2018 documentary Her Sound, Her Story. Directed by Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore with cinematography by Michelle Grace Hunder, the film showcases and celebrates more than forty women from five decades of Australian music, and looks at the effects on them of the inequities of the industry. Here is the playlist:
- Hand in My Pocket (live) – Imagine Dragons
- Back in Your Head – Tegan and Sara
- Skeletons – Aja Volkman
- The Same – Allison Weiss
- Muddy Waters – LP
- Remember Me – Vincint
- Animal – Troye Sivan
- Wake Your Dreams – Brody Ray
