Katie plays some fab new songs by local artists, and then has a chat on the phone to Lyn Bowtell from award-winning country-folk trio Bennett, Bowtell and Urquhart. Successful performers in their own right, Kevin Bennett, Lyn Bowtell and Felicity Urquhart first performed together at the 2015 Country Music Festival in Tamworth in what they thought would be a one-off affair; however, the experience proved so enjoyable that they decided not only to do it again, but to then go into the studio and see what happened! Katie chats to Lyn about the joys of living in the Hunter Valley and of doing a job you love but that might not pay well, and about how three very busy people were able to find the time and space to write and produce the songs on their recently released second album, Weeds. Here is the playlist:
- Closer – Alana Wilkinson
- Piece of Mind – A Whale Called Phoenix
- History – Maxon
- Goodbye Sisto – Les Thomas
- Hurt Nobody – Oh Pep!
- Love or Money – Bennett, Bowtell & Urquhart
- Mountain of Pain – Bennett, Bowtell & Urquhart
- Rain – That Gold Street Sound
