Happy 2019! In the first hour of the show, Katie plays the last of her backlog of 2018 new-music-to-be-listened-to. The songs are, as usual, mostly by Australian artists: this time it’s Klara Zubonja, Jordie Lane and Max Lawrence from Melbourne, Pete Allan from Noosa, Sam Buckingham from Byron Bay, and Steel City Sue from Newcastle. There are also a couple of gorgeous songs from European artists: Jack in Water from London, and Berlin-based, Ireland-born Wallis Bird. Wallis’s song, ‘The Ocean’, has a stunning video – see the link below. Here is the playlist:
- Miss Chatelaine – k.d. lang
- The Winds of Life – Klara Zubonja
- Summer Holiday – Pete Allan Collective
- The Ocean – Wallis Bird
- Jack in Water – Six and Twelve
- Better Not Go Outside – Jordie Lane
- Float – Max Lawrence
- Hammer & Love – Sam Buckingham
- Boom Town – Steel City Sue
