NAIDOC Week 2023 | Alana Wilkinson – Show #286 (part 2), 9 July 2023

Katie continues her celebration of NAIDOC Week 2023 with a few more songs by First Nations artists, and then introduces her guest, singer-songwriter Alana Wilkinson. Katie and Alana catch up on events of the past three or so years, including a move by Alana and her partner from Melbourne to the Byron Bay hinterland and the birth of their very premature baby, pandemic lockdowns, and being airlifted out of the northern NSW floods in March 2022. We are treated to two beautiful live performances of new songs and hear about Alana’s forthcoming album and other plans. Here is the playlist:

  • Homeward Bound – Jess Hitchcock
  • Who Will Sing My Songs – Richard J Frankland
  • Better Be Home Soon – Budjerah & Wilsn
  • Closer – Alana Wilkinson
  • Ultraviolet (live in the studio) – Alana Wilkinson
  • Make a Baby – The Maes
  • Bootleg Firecracker – Middle Kids
  • The Light – Jim Alxndr
  • With a Boob Out (live in the studio) – Alana Wilkinson
