Dan Warner – Show #321 (part 2), 21 April 2024

After playing three awesome new Australian releases, Katie welcomes local musician Dan Warner to the JOY studio for a chat about how the two of them met and became friends, night parrots and other bird stuff, working with Marcel Borrack on the Night Parrots musical project, co-writing with the late Renee Geyer and with Sally Dastey from Tiddas, the influence of musicians who wrote/write about civil rights, and more. Dan also performs the great protest song ‘Anthem’ live in the studio. Here is the playlist:

  • The Dawning – Enda Kenny
  • Square One – Alana Wilkinson
  • I Got Mine – Ally Row
  • The Storyline Ends Here – The Night Parrots
  • My Back Room – Renee Geyer
  • Anthem (live in the studio) – Dan Warner
  • Champion Ruby – Ruby Gill
  • K2-18b – The Night Parrots
  • Monday’s Experts (live) – Weddings Parties Anything

Visit Dan Warner’s official website and follow him on Facebook and Instagram. The Night Parrots have a Facebook page here and you can find their music on Bandcamp.
