For JOY’s Radiothon Power Week, Katie’s co-host is former JOY presenter and current Miss Chatelaine podcaster Daniel Kilby. They are joined on the phone by the lovely and talented Matthew Mitcham (former Olympic diver; now a cabaret performer) and Tim Rogers (rock star, songwriter, bon vivant), who talk about their latest projects and about why #WeStillNeedJOY. Matthew has a new cabaret show called Under the Covers, and Tim has a new album called An Actor Repairs and is one of the stars of Stand by Your Woman at Hamer Hall on Sunday 21 May. There’s less music than usual, but the conversations make up for that! Here’s the playlist:
- BJ to a DJ – Folk Uke (fab US female folk-royalty duo)
- Pretty Much – This Way North (fab Australian queer female duo)
- Do Your Thing – Matthew Mitcham (a quick cover of the Basement Jaxx song to promote Matthew’s cabaret show Under the Covers)
- Never Be – Meg Mac (a rocking bluesy tune from the Sydney singer-songwriter, chosen by Matthew Mitcham)
- Favourite Song – Little Wise ft. Sal Kimber (fab local queer singer-songwriter with fab local alt-country artist)
Follow Matthew Mitcham on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and visit Tim Rogers’ official website and follow him on Facebook.
