Miss Chatelaine

4 Dec 2017

Miss Chatelaine #33, 24 September 2017 – Madison Violet, Patrick Wilson

Music

Katie’s guests on this show were Canadian folk duo Madison Violet on the phone in the first hour, and lovely Melbourne singer-songwriter Patrick Wilson in the studio in the second hour – but alas, the JOY system failed that weekend, and there is no surviving audio of the show! Please enjoy the videos and photos below instead, as sadly they’re all we can offer.

Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac, aka Madison Violet, met in 1999 and have since released seven studio albums and been nominated for and won numerous Canadian music awards. They are on tour in Australia in support of their latest album, The Knight Sessions, which includes ‘How We See Love’, a beautiful song about loving with no judgement. Patrick Wilson’s style is hard to describe, but there’s definitely a Van Morrison influence. His PR describes it as ‘a unique blend of classic Americana and alt-country with hints of indie pop, doo-wop, groove and soul’. Whatever it is, it’s great, and you can hear it on his debut EP, Anywhere with a Rooftop. Here is the playlist:
