The lack of action by the Federal Health Minister to ensure PrEP’s availability on the PBS has led to the emergence of a number of web sites facilitating the importation of the drugs from generic suppliers based overseas.
Far from being an ideal situation, local gay men have had enough. To assist with the process of importing the drugs a group of gay men in Melbourne have established PrEP Access NOW.
Rodney Ellis is one of the organisation’s founders and he joins us to share his motivations for taking such drastic steps.
