Equality Party Petition to Support Safe Schools

The Australian Christian Lobby (ACL), a privately run organisation that represents only a minority of Christians, has again targeted LGBTIQ Australians by calling for the axing of the Safe Schools Coalition’s anti-bullying campaign.

The Safe Schools Coalition mission is to create safe and inclusive school environments for LGBTIQ students. It does this by providing information, training, and resources to 450 schools to help stop homophobic and transphobic bullying and discrimination. The ACL has attacked this initiative with misinformation and the tired cry that “homosexuality is not natural.”

Jason Tuazon-McCheyne, leader and senate candidate for the Australian Equality Party has started an online petition in support of the Safe Schools Coalition roll-out across the nation.  Some 3,500 people have already signed the petition and you can too.

The Equality Party is holding a major fundraising event to be hosted by JOY 94.9’s Dean Beck on Friday 20 November at The Coppersmith Hotel, 435 Clarendon Street South Melbourne.  Previous events have sold out so book your ticket to this glamorous event today.
