Alex is an 8 year old who is Autistic. He also has other conditions such an Epilepsy, Sensory Processing Disorder and ADHD just to name a few. He’s a smart child and we have all worked hard.
Autism Assistance dogs have been scientifically proven to aid Autistic children by keeping them calm, helping them form relationships, reducing stimming, alerting family members when the child attempts to wander off and so much more. They are medically recognised aides, just like Guide Dogs for the blind.
The training the dog needs is thorough, but expensive and can often take 2 years. Young Alex and his parents need another $10,000, to cover the cost of the dog and 2 years of Autism Assistance Dog specific training.
A special fundraising dinner next Friday 13th of November at The Spaghetti Tree, 59 Bourke St, Melbourne. The night will include some amazing items up for auction. If you cannot make the dinner, you can make a donation on line at companion4alex.com
