Current Queer Affairs – News and Views you need to know.
Two weeks ago we reported on the financial troubles of Evolution Publishing, the GLBTI Publishing house responsible for such mastheads and MCV in Melbourne and SX Magazine in Sydney. Freelance journalist Miles Heffernan joins us to report on yesterdays court hearing initiated by the Australian Taxation Office. He reveals another creditor emerged at the hearing. Then we are joined by one of Evolution Publishing’s former Editors. Andrew Blythe discussed what the organisation was like to work for when he headed Queensland Pride Magazine. Some 69 GLBTI Community Leaders have signed an advertisement calling upon the NSW Police to be a “Service” and not a “Force”. Three signatories, Morgan Carpenter, Amanda Sordes and Ivan Crozier, join us to discuss more. And with the weekly round-up of what will feature in tomorrow’s Star Observer, Melbourne News Editor Benn Dorrington is On The Line.
