July is National Desexing Month
Before we play the first track of the show on this podcast, a kitten or a puppy will come into this world and will sadly go on to represent just one of the hundreds-of-thousands of unwanted companion animals in Australia.
Each year, The Lost Dogs’ Home cares for over 30,000 lost and abandoned cats and dogs – a large percentage of them are sadly not desexed.
The issue of unwanted and straying pets may seem overwhelming; however desexing just one companion animal has a real and positive effect.
From July 1, The Lost Dogs’ Home Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic is participating in National Desexing Month by offering discounted desexing to help you, help us make a difference.
And on Pets-A-Loud this, we look at why you should desex your pet.
Coming up on the program:
- We look at the societal but also individual impact of not desexing companion animals.
- We bust common held misconceptions on desexing. There are plenty of them and some will surprise you!
- We’ll hear the second part of our interview with the wonderful Phil, one year on after adopting Dodge, the ginger moggie rescued from the Burnley Tunnel last year.
