We love summer! Its arrival signals the start of warmer weather, Christmas, New Year, summer holidays and most importantly, trips to the beach.
However, the arrival of summer also marks the start of the most significant period of the year for Australia’s climate. Bushfires, tropical cyclones, heatwaves and severe thunderstorms tend to be more frequent and extreme during the summer months – impacting ourselves and our pets.
On this edition of Pets-A-Loud the team are taking a look at how these weather events impact our pets and what pet owners can do to make sure their pets are cared for.
Also on this edition of Pets-A-Loud:
- What do pet owners need to plan for this bushfire season? The team talk to the CFA to find out.
- Dr Caroline Butler from The Lost Dogs’ Home talks to us about what pet owners need to do if their pet is injured during an extreme weather event.
