In 2012 we were fortunate to chat to Larry Cohen the American B grade master director of Horror and Sci-fi movies from the 1970’s like ‘It’s Alive!’ movies from the 1980’s like ‘The Stuff’ and ‘Maniac Cop’ he was meant to come to Oz for the 2012 Monster Fest film festival through Monster Pictures Australia , but alas could not attend, so this is the unheard of until now exclusive interview from Oct 2012 !

Lawrence G. “Larry” Cohen (born July 15, 1941 is an American film producer, director, and screenwriter. He is best known as a B-Movie auteur of horror and science fiction films – often containing a police procedural element – during 1970s and 1980s. He has since concentrated mainly on screenwriting including the Joel Schumacher thriller Phone Booth (2002), Cellular (2004) and Captivity (2007). In 2006 Cohen returned to the directing chair for the Mick Garris-created Masters of Horror TV series (2006); he directed the episode Pick Me Up.
Most famous as the writer/director of some of most memorable cult films of the ’70s and ’80s: the fiend-baby horror It’s Alive, cryptic thriller God Told Me To, Aztec-inspired monster movie Q, and satirical sci-fi The Stuff !
