This week on Sidelined, Soupy, Demetra and Jacs are talking motorsport! The Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2023 is in town and we’re on a mission to find out where this sport is inclusive for the Rainbow community!

We were able to start close to home in the magnificent Victorian Pride Centre Building speaking with two of the presenters at the Pride in Motorsport 2023 event and one of the amazing attendees. Thank you for your time Casey Price (Team Owner and Driver, MINI Girl Racer), Bea Vear (Programming & Data Engineer, Driver – Bea Vear Racing) and Amy Jane – Historic Rally Association Committee member for sharing your interesting experience of motorsport with us.

In A Chat With Jacs, Paul Hollingworth – President of Motafrenz joins us to tell us all about Australia’s first LGBTIQA+ Car Club and how our JOYstars can get involved. Whether you have a car, have a toy car, like slot cars, or just like talking about cars – you are welcome!

In Demetra’s Drama, we are joined by Richard Morris live from the UK. Richard is the Co-founder of Racing Pride, a champion of LGBTQ+ inclusivity in motorsport, and an international racing driver with Revolution Race Cars. Inspired by his own experience in the sport growing up gay, Richard decided to make a difference and set up Racing Pride founded on three pillars – Visibility, Education and Commuity.
