Lesbians and Guys Support the Miners! And they did back in 1984 where a small group managed to raise funds, raise awareness and potentially change the labor movements in England with their support. Its all in the 2014 movie Pride which is set in ’84 and tells the story of how Mark Ashton and his group supported a group of Welsh miners who were on strike.
Its a moving and funny movie with an incredible cast and a soundtrack full of 80s bangers. Everything from Bronski Beat, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Dead or Alive, Yazoo, The Smiths, King and the Communards.
