Alec Reade, Co-Curator – Blak Queer Futurism

Alec Reade who co-curated the exhibition Blak-Queer Futurism as part of the Midsumma 2018 program came into Sunday Arts Magazine to talk to Neil and David about the exhibition. Through multi-disciplinary works, the artists involved relay narratives attained through story, family, experience, country, and dreaming. It draws upon resilience, knowledge and spirituality.

The exhibition looks into the collective knowledge of each of the artists and their respective origins as a means of self-determination and representation, creatively examining the ways in which Queer Indigenous people will influence generations to come.
