Anouk van Dijk, Artistic Director with Chunky Moves talks to the Sunday Arts Magazine team about her latest work, Common Ground.
Chunky Move will premiere Anouk’s latest work Common Ground at Chunky Move Studios, Thursday 26 April to Saturday 5 May, before heading to Drum Theatre, Dandenong, Thursday 8 May.
Featuring Tara Jade Samaya and Richard Cilli, two of Australia’s leading contemporary dancers, Common Ground explores the universality of our shared experiences, the common ground that unites us and sometimes can cause rupture and disturbance. It’s a choreographic game of chess where engrained rules are upturned by unexpected moves.
Common Ground is a journey inside the multi-faceted relationships we build with the world around us, the relationships we build with each other and where we find common ground to stand on.
