Midsumma Festival Program Manager, Brendan Cooney, chats to David and Neil on Sunday Arts Magazine.
Brendan has occupied numerous roles of producer and venue manager at various venues around Australia. He owned the Bassline Nightclub at The Palace, St Kilda, and was the Producer and Creative Director during the nineties. Brendan graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts: Technical Production(Honours), from the Queensland University of Technology in 2009. Since then he has been working on major festivals.
He returned to Melbourne just before the outbreak of Covid. Midsumma reached out to him offering him a short term role. This short term role morphed into him becoming the Program Manager for the Midsumma Festival. This year is his third year as the Program Manager for the Midsumma Festival.
