David welcomes Richard Piper, distinguished actor, to Sunday Arts Magazine to chat about his background and upcoming play, “Seventeen”.
Richard was born,and grew up, in England. He went to an English boarding school then to a drama school in London, and has since appeared in over eighty productions, including forty in Australia.
In 1984 he toured to Australia with the band Bouncing Czecks, before deciding to move to Melbourne permanently in 1987. He joined the Melbourne Theatre Company with whom he has appeared in over forty popular productions. “Seventeen”, the production about which he speaks today, is his forty first performance in Australia.
‘Seventeen” is performing at the Southbank Theatre until 17th February.
