Melbourne cabaret artiste Danielle Asciak (top) is kicking off her heels to sing a ferocious tribute to the feline attitudes of cabaret’s first ultra sex kitten, Eartha Kitt, in “Just an Old Fashioned Grrrrl!” at the Butterfly Club from May 29 to June 2. Danielle will sing three songs for us with her accompanist Daniele Buatti.

Gillian Cosgriff (above) is about to start performing the second volume of her “8 Songs In 8 Weeks” project. She put together the idea last year as a project for herself as a songwriter. The project began as a very small, simple idea, and was basically a way for Gillian to stop procrastinating, but it received a lot of attention and played to great audiences. So Gillian decided to do it again and has spent the last seven weeks writing a song a week. She’s playing the songs in a show of sorts at The Butterfly Club from May 22nd-26th.
