Alex Bhathal gets strategic in reaching LGBTI voters in Batman

With the Federal election less than a week away, Emma Arnold speaks to Greens’ Alex Bhathal, who is pulling out all stops in a bid to win the seat of Batman, in Melbourne’s north.

Over the last few days the party have taken a new approach to campaigning through Grindr in order to reach potential LGBTI voters across the electorate.

“We have one of Australia’s largest populations of LGBTQI people in Batman, which is fantastic,” says Bhathal.

As one of the safest Labor seats for over 20 years, Bhathal says Batman is ready for a change and the people are starting to realise that.

Emma is also joined on the line by Geoffrey Cicuto from Australian Cyclist Party to find out what he has to offer the people of Batman, and Stephanie McLean catches up with Independent Philip Sutton and Australian Progressives’ Russell Hayward to talk climate change, political values and LGBTI rights.
