Michael Quinn Sentenced and HIVsters go Walk-a-bout

Michael Quinn Gets 12 years

In May this year, shock and disbelief were the initial feelings experienced by the Melbourne Chargers when a team member was arrested at a LA Hotel trying to procure the sexual services of a 6 year old boy.

The sting operation executed by Homeland Security police posing as the child’s pimp, took place just days before the Chargers were to play in the bi-annual international gay rugby tournament, The Bingham Cup being held in Nashville, Tennessee.

Just days ago, on October 31, Michael Quinn was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment by the US District Court in downtown Los Angeles.

And while the Melbourne Chargers won the Bingham Cup, the team are still coming to terms with Quinn’s betrayal and society’s scorn.
