Laura Aboriginal Dance Festival, getting a haircut as a gender fluid person & Facebook still doesn’t like ‘dyke’

The Laura Aboriginal Dance Festival 2017 has just wrapped up and it was the biggest one yet. We chat to Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council Mayor Wayne Butcher about his community’s big win and what the festival means for the Cape York communities.  Audio of Lockhart River dancers courtesy of Brad Welsh.

Then we hear from a gender fluid person who was overcharged from a haircut in Perth. But when they complained they were surprised at the salon’s response.

Finally, we get an update from the Listening 2 Lesbians about their fight against Facebook to stop their ban on the word dyke. They’ve set up a petition to convince Facebook to lift the ban. Sign the petition here.
