Where will Newcastle’s LGBTIQ community go now that Gateways doors are closing?

This week, Newcastle’s Gateway Hotel announced that it was time for a change of direction. After 18 years of being an LGBTIQ venue it is time for a change of name and a change of focus on live music from March.

There was a strong outcry from the local community, and Dean Arcuri spoke to the local community and The Gateways Licensee Paul about the need for the change.

Where will they go now that they don’t have a space for them to call their own?

This segment aired on JOY 94.9 on 7th February 2018.
