Department of HOMO Affairs disrupts Mardi Gras Parade for Refugees

From Protest to Pride was the slogan of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras on its 40th Anniversary. Culminating in a fabulous parade of remembrance and celebration, it wasn’t all smooth sailing this year.

Queer Refugee activist group, the Department of Homo Affairs intervened & disrupted the Liberal Party marching in this years parade, in the spirit of the original 1978 Mardi Gras.

Dean Arcuri spoke with Officer Cunstable Nicole Curby from The Department of Homo Affairs about their protest.

This aired on The Informer on JOY 94.9 on 6th March 2018.
