Earlier this month, Australia’s premier conference on the health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer and sexuality, gender, and bodily diverse people and communities throughout Australia took place in Sydney, Health in Difference.
It was the tenth year of the conference which brought together community members, community organizations large and small, health practitioners, researchers, academics, policy makers, advocates, and others who are interested in improving the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of LGBTI people.
Anyone missing out on the conference couldn’t help but have a serious case of FOMO watching social media, with an out pouring of information, acceptance, intersectionality and accessibility for our diverse communities.
Dean Arcuri spoke to Margherita Coppolino, who spoke at the conference on intersections of CALD, Culturally and linguistically diversity, Disability and LGBTIQ+ and also Misty Farquhar who spoke on Non-binary and bisexuality topics at the conference about not only what it was like to be in such a diverse and informative space for marginalized voices in our communities, but how we can all make communication and accessibility better.
This episode of The Informer aired on JOY 94.9 on 23rd April 2018
