gender, Government & Organisations, Health, intersex, LGBTIQ, Local, Marriage Equality, the informer

A bill before the Victorian Parliament, the Births Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Bill 2019, will allow trans people to change their birth certificates without undergoing surgery. This week we talk to a number of people who will be affected by this legislation, including Transgender Victoria acting Executive Director Sally Goldner, Reason Party MP Fiona Patten, and stories from trans people themselves about what this will mean for them.

Plus, a live cross to Melbourne Uni where a protest was held outside a meeting of opponents of the legislation.
