Cancelled World Outgames and Ireland’s first gay PM

Hundreds of sports people from around the world were left shocked when they arrived to Florida only to find out this year’s Miami World Outgames were cancelled at the last minute.

Dean Arcuri spoke to people affected by the cancellation to find out how they’re coping. He also chats to key players at the Miami World Outgames and the Gay and Lesbian International Sports Association (GLISA).

Is it time to amalgamate the Gay Games and World Outgames to return to the days of only one international LGBTI sporting competition?

Ireland is likely to have its first gay Prime Minister by next week. Leo Varadkar is the front-runner to win a vote for the Prime Minster position after the incumbent PM Enda Kenny decided to step down.

Shannon Power and Dean talk to marriage equality campaigner Tiernan Brady about what it would mean for Ireland to have its first gay head of state.
